Fundaniños is a Guatemalan nonprofit founded in the early 1990s by volunteers who were moved to action after visiting juvenile prisons. They aimed to prevent at-risk children from ending up on the streets or in the justice system by providing a safe, nurturing environment.
In 1993, Fundaniños was legally established and began caring for its first five children on donated land. Over time, the organization grew and moved to a larger property in San José Pinula in 1998. Today, it supports around 100 children and teens each year who have experienced neglect or abuse.
The organization operates without government funding, relying solely on donations. Its mission is to offer children a hopeful future through Christian values, education, and emotional support—always striving to keep siblings together.

Fundaniños is a nonprofit organization in Guatemala dedicated to giving vulnerable and at-risk children a chance at a better future. Founded in 1993 by a group of compassionate volunteers, Fundaniños provides a safe, loving home for children who have faced abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
What began with five children, and a small, donated house has grown into a thriving home in San José Pinula, now serving around 100 children and teens each year, ages 1 to 18. With no government support, Fundaniños runs entirely on the generosity of individuals and companies who care.

The mission is to raise children in a safe, Christian environment where they are loved, educated, and empowered—always striving to keep siblings together and give each child a real chance at life.
